On Friday, July 18, 2025, the Flathead Valley played host to two thrilling golf tournaments that celebrated both competition and community spirit. The Northwest Montana Association of Realtors (NMAR) held its 22nd Annual Charity Golf Tournament at Village Greens Golf Course in Kalispell, while Eagle Bend Golf Club witnessed an unforgettable moment at The Wanagan Men’s Member-Guest Tournament. These events, though separate, shared a common thread: they both brought people together for fun, philanthropy, and memorable moments on the green.
NMAR Charity Golf Tournament: A Win for the Community
At the NMAR Charity Golf Tournament, real estate professionals and community members gathered for a day of camaraderie and support, raising funds for the NMAR Charitable Foundation. The foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, focuses on providing grants to local organizations working in the areas of disadvantaged youth, hunger, and shelter. Lacy Richter and Cindy Lanier of PureWest Real Estate and their team took home the top prize after leading their team to victory and demonstrating their commitment to both excellence in real estate and community involvement.
The tournament also featured an exciting raffle, with a range of fantastic prizes, including a relaxing spa day, tickets to a Range Riders game, and a “Day in Whitefish” experience, to name a few. All funds raised went directly to the NMAR Charitable Foundation, continuing its important work in enriching the communities we all call home.

The Wanagan: A Hole-in-One for the Ages
Meanwhile, just a short distance away, at Eagle Bend Golf Club, The Wanagan Men’s Member-Guest Tournament also made waves with a truly remarkable moment: Jeff Cochran’s hole-in-one on the 161-yard 4th hole. Cochran’s perfect tee shot with a 9-wood landed straight into the cup, securing the grand prize — a brand-new car, provided by Kalispell Auto Group. The hole-in-one contest, sponsored by David Fetveit of PureWest Real Estate, added an extra level of excitement to the already anticipated tournament.
“This was one of those unforgettable golf moments,” said David Fetveit. “To have someone win a car with a hole-in-one — and at an event like The Wanagan — just adds to the magic of what makes this tournament so special.”
In addition to Cochran’s historic hole-in-one, David Fetveit and Lance Fahrney from PureWest also won their flight, making it a big day for the PureWest team.
Community and Camaraderie: Celebrating Montana
Both tournaments highlighted the deep connection between golf and community, with participants contributing to worthy causes and local organizations. Whether it was the NMAR Charity Golf Tournament raising funds for the NMAR Charitable Foundation or the Wanagan bringing together golfers for a day of spirited competition, these events reminded us all of the power of community.
A heartfelt congratulations to Jeff Cochran for his remarkable hole-in-one, David Fetveit and Lance Fahrney for their flight, and to Lacy Richter, Cindy Lanier, and their team for their victory at the NMAR tournament. Thanks to all participants, sponsors, and supporters who made these events possible and continue to make our communities stronger and more vibrant.
