Spring is not the only great season for selling your home in Montana! Here are several reasons that fall is a strong time of year for selling your home.
1. There are fewer homes for sale
When you list your house in the fall, you don’t have to compete against as many homes. Inventory declines after the spring and summer buying season, leaving interested buyers with fewer choices in both the residential real estate and luxury real estate markets. Less competition means more eyes on your home, no matter what price point you occupy.
2. Buyers are serious
Fall buyers are often people who aren’t shopping with the school calendar in mind: young professionals, empty nesters, and others. Here in our beautiful corner of the world, many people visit for summer vacations before deciding to relocate to Montana in the fall. They are motivated to find houses to buy and move in for the holidays, and also to make the transition before the real winter weather hits.
3. Closings can happen quickly
Buyers aren’t the only people involved in selling your home. The transaction often involves a mortgage lender, an appraiser, a home inspector, and a title company, as well as real estate agents. With fewer sales taking place in the fall, these professionals have more room in their schedules to process applications and appointments quickly, a benefit to both the buyer and the seller.
4. Your house looks great
With the change in fall foliage, fall is simply a beautiful time of year for selling your property or home. You can show your home to its best advantage this season with a spotlessly clean entrance and a pop of fall-themed decor. We recommend an artful arrangement of mums, pumpkins and gourds, or even simply a cheery fall wreath on your front door.
At PureWest Christie’s, we are always ready to help you get your home ready to sell, no matter the season. Fall offers some great advantages to sellers; if you are considering selling your home or property, we would love to help!
