Huffington Post: Big Sky is Montana’s Best Vacation Spot

Where’s the best place to vacation in Montana? According to the Huffington Post, Big Sky! For Big Sky property owners, this is no surprise. Here’s what the national media outlet had to say about our little slice of heaven:

This mountain town just southwest of Bozeman is the gateway to Yellowstone National Park. Visit during the winter for some of the best (and least crowded) skiing in the States.

They’re certainly right about the skiing — we do love the uncrowded slopes and short liftlines at Big Sky Resort. The resort’s 5,800 acres of skiable terrain (the most in the United States), 4,350 vertical feet, 23 chair lifts, and 10 surface lifts disperse skiers easily, so it’s a rare day when the slopes feel busy. Even on big powder days, it’s not hard to fresh tracks through the famous “cold smoke” powder until the lifts close at 4 p.m. You sure can’t say that for the other mountain towns that made the “best of” list, like Colorado’s Aspen, Oregon’s Bend, and California’s Lake Tahoe. We think the biggest skiing in America is the best!

The snow is starting to melt up on Lone Peak, but the article left out something important out: There’s so much to do at Big Sky even after the snow is long gone. Take in the view from Montana’s highest scenic overlook at 11,166 feet with a binocular-bearing, knowledgeable “Lone Peak Expedition” guide. Explore more than 40 miles of downhill mountain bike trails with the $42 bike haul pass, which offers access to beginner, intermediate, advanced, and expert trails off of three resort lifts. Or zip through the air on an epic Adventure Zipline Tour. Choose between four adrenaline-pumping lines that reach more than 1,500 feet and hang 150 feet above the forest floor. Our favorite: the Twin Zipline, which allows you to race a friend.

No matter the time of year, it’s so satisfying to come home tired and happy at the end of the day to your Big Sky property. If you can’t call Big Sky home, give us a call today!
